Meet Robert and Durkje...
We are so blessed to have Robert and Durkje de Vries from Holland join our Love A Child Missionary Staff in Haiti. Robert and Durkje speak Creole fluently and have previously been working in Haiti for four years. They have really taken a heavy load off of our shoulders, and have been a blessing to work closely with Bob and Carole.
Durkje helps at the Orphanage, with the care of the children, reorganizing their schedules, making sure their clothes and shoes are ready for school and many other things. She organizes the cooks and food for the warehouse and on the construction site. (A big job!). She helps Sherry with accounting and Carole with medical accounting. In her spare time she helps prepare for medical clinics.
Robert is involved with the Miracle Village construction site. His fluent Creole helps so much when dealing with the "Haitian crew," and all the daily problems. Robert oversees the big job of "water drainage" on the Miracle Village land, the Security Wall going around 62 acres, and the community toilets! No time to rest for these two!!
Robert and Durkje both work very hard at our Food Distribution Sites.
