05-16-2013 - 9 AM - Urgent Need: We need "black school shoes" for the children at our Love A Child Orphanage, any size on up to young men and women...black shoes for school. All children in Haiti (who are not in the mountains) have to have "black dress shoes" for school and for other major events. We need all sizes, boys and girls...I promise you "just buy some black shoes on sale, " and they will fit someone here! Bobby and I have lived here in Haiti for 21 years...we have seen a lot of poor, hungry people and children, but never like it has been in just the last year...worse than ever. It has gotten so bad that it is difficult to take "garden seeds" to poor villages because the children are eating them "before their parents can plant them!" If we take dry macaroni or powdered milk, the children will eat the dry macaroni, (even if a package falls on the ground and breaks) and they will eat it, along with the dirt. If we take powdered milk, they will "eat it" dry, before mixing it with water....When we bless the poor, no matter how small, God will always pay us back...Bobby
05-15-2013 - 5:30 PM - "What is hunger?" We took a few visitors to old Le Tant (the poor village of mud huts) today. I had some extra boxes of "macaroni" in small sacks that someone had given us....We took the sacks to Le Tant and the parents stood in line for one small sack...one of those sacks fell on the ground and broke....The children instantly dove onto the ground, scraping up dirt with the dried macaroni. They began eating the dry, uncooked macaroni, dirt and all....After that, a Haitian lady who had lived in the States for 20 years, got in my truck, hid her face and sobbed. "That's what hunger will do..." Sherry
6 AM - "Oh God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is..." Psalms 63:1 At this time, David was in the wilderness of Judah...much like Haiti in many places...dry and thirsty. We go through seasons of good and plenty in our lives and we know God is there, but He is also there with us, in the desert and in hard times....He is still "God of the mountains and God of the valleys." 05-14-2013 - 6 PM - This afternoon the football players from the University of Wyoming came to Miracle Village and worked hard on the children's soccer field, along with Carole, one of our missionaries, who has a heart for Soccer Clubs. The football team was great, hard working and such a wonderful heart to serve! Bobby and Sherry
1 PM - We welcome the University of Wyoming Football team, along with Pastor Narcisse, to Love A Child. They will be doing a community project here in Haiti, and today they are cleaning and preparing a soccer field for poor Haitian children! This group is so sweet! We think we will keep them! Sherry
6 AM - (Peter) "...Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? (Peter thought this was a good number.) Jesus said unto him, "I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven." Matthew 18:21-22 Wow! This one is really, really tough....For many years after our land was donated to us here in Haiti, the man who donated the land became so jealous and hated us...he fought us, he lied about us, he took us to the Haitian court, he wrote to our donors against us....But every morning, Bobby and I had to "pray for him, forgive him and ask the Lord to bless him." (And those of you who know me, know that was not easy for Madamn Sherry to do!) It's tough to forgive when someone hurts you, isn't it? Sherry
05-13-2013 - 8:15 PM - We just received this photo from Pastor Kesnel, "All In One Orphanage..." This is one of the orphanages that we share our food with each month. Once a month, we give away over "270,000 meals" to other missionaries, orphanages, and organizations....This food is donated by Feed My Starving Children and sponsored to come to Haiti by our Love A Child Partners! 05-12-2013 - 8:30 PM - Market Place Update: As you know about 3 weeks ago Pastor Jentezen Franklin committed $1,000,000 to sponsor our Love A Child Market Place. Plus, a donor of ours who was in the meeting kicked it off with the first $100,000! The projected finish date will be April 15th, 2014. Thousands of Haitians will have jobs. It will greatly touch the whole area. It will change everything from poverty to prosperity! "Helping Haitians Help Themselves!" JESUS HAS ALL THE GLORY! - BOBBY
05-12-2013 - 4:30 PM - LifeChurch, Pastor Randy and his team, had a seminar today in our Miracle Village Church at 2:00 PM! The people were so blessed! Tomorrow morning the container arrives from Customs with two huge playgrounds on it! LifeChurch will be installing this in two different villages and lots of poor Haitian children will be "very happy!" Bobby

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone..." Psalms. 91:11-12 Yesterday, a group from LifeChurch came here to do several work projects. They will do ministry, build two playgrounds for the poor children and other outreaches....Many people are afraid to come Haiti, but if God sends you, He will guide you, protect you and send His Angels as His "invisible" security! 05-11-2013 - 12:30 PM - The little children in the village of Cotin are already using their new "school classrooms," even though the school is not finished yet...but soon will be. 05-11-2013 - 6:30 AM - I woke up early with this scripture on my heart....I believe that right now, someone has had a loss in their live, or loses...and God wants you to know that He is going to "restore" that loss.
"And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God..." Joel 2:25-26
God is able to restore anything that the devil has taken from you...so give Him the Glory! Sherry
05-10-2013 - 9 PM - This week, while the Feed My Starving Children Team members were here, we gave away (distributed) over 399,600 meals to "families," school children and many orphanages and organizations....This food is donated by FMSC and we are soooo blessed! Love A Child Partners sponsor the food to get it from the States to Haiti and out of Customs and to Love A Child, where it goes "all over Haiti," and feeds thousands of children and adults. We "all" work together...it is "too big a job" to do by ourselves!! Love, Sherry

12:45 This is Savaan....He has been one of our best and sweetest workers until he "picked up an evil spirit" about seven months ago. He has been "sick" in his head so we sent him first to our doctor at our Jesus Healing Center, who gave him medicine and a prescription. I went to see Savaan today because his daughter (a Christian) said he needed money. I went to see him and took Mark and David and Daniel, our interpreter....It seems that Savann has been to a witch doctor, and then, to a "Pastor" who is in a "very strange" "religion." Notice the coloring of his face...he is turning into a "Zombie." He didn't want us to take him "out of the temple," and we had to leave him...this is not the sweet, smiling man that I used to know. Haiti is a country that is bound by "evil spirits," and it really needs the Gospel...Sherry
6 AM - Job was one of the richest men in the Bible, and highly favored of God....We know that Job feared God, sacrificed for the sins of his children and loved God. Yet, in reading Job 31:16-22, another key to his blessings...He was unusual...for he was a RICH MAN that constantly blessed the poor. In these scriptures, (as he is covered with boils and now has lost everything) he says, "if I haven't given to the poor, or clothed the naked, or fed the hungry or taken care of the widow and orphan, then let my arm fall from my shoulder and let it be broken from the bone." What a man of God! Sherry

I have always felt and known that God knew us, way before we were born, that He had a plan for our lives...a good plan...and no matter what we are going through today, we are "part of God's plan," and what we are going through, is for a purpose. So, know that God will bring you through that tough trial today...and you will come forth "as gold." Sherry

2:30 PM - This is our Love A Child School in the village of Cotin....We only had the foundation and the roof on, but thanks to David George and friends, we now have the walls going up! This is such a blessing because the rainy season has begun, and the children would not be able to go to school. We say, "Praise the Lord," and "thank you, David!" God bless, Sherry
6:30 AM - "The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself." (Proverbs 11:25) So many people are "afraid to give," even if they have a little....I have learned more about giving "here in Haiti," than when I lived in the States...because the "need" is constantly before us and around us. Today, be "sensitive" to the Holy Spirit as He leads you in giving...in your time...in your love...in your finances. Have you ever seen that "one lonely person on the bench," and stuck a bill in their hand and said, "I just felt like the Lord wanted me to give you this." Imagine how they would feel! 11 AM - We need dentists for two separate Trips to Haiti. The first is July 8-12, 2013 to work in our Love A Child Village Dental Clinic and nearby villages. The second is Nov 4-9, 2013 to work in Savaan Rock, a remote, mountain village. Outside LAC Village dental chairs are improvised and most procedures are extractions. 05-05-2013 - 3 PM - Today, we were blessed to be able to give the Wedding Albums to the "21 Couples" that we married in the Miracle Village Church!!! (We married all 21 at the same time...) Now another great need is for "a new sound system." I was there this morning and the system they had was so bad, I could not understand what the Pastor was saying. Jesus is looking for those who will "count the cost," who will not "look for excuses," but who will just "take up their cross and follow Him." Sherry

6:30 AM - This morning, I will fly to Orlando, Florida to meet Mark Ostrander this evening; then, we will leave at 6 in the morning for Medford, Oregon. Pieter, Robert and Durkje's son from Holland, is getting married on Tuesday. Pieter was a great help to us here in Haiti. We love and appreciate him. 05-04-2013 - 8 PM - We just received these pictures from Carole Stufflebeam, our Medical Administrator here at Love A Child. This is Marie Ange...the little girl who was badly burned during the earthquake. She had multiple surgeries in the States and is now back in school at Miracle Village....God bless "Betsy" and her family who were the "host family" for Marie Ange! Sherry
3:00 PM - Yesterday, we visited a village near the Dominican Republic, where children were caught in the middle of a "refugee problem...Fond Bayard." Their parents had fled, illegally, to the Dominican Republic, but then, all the Haitians were deported. As a result, Haitians do not want them, nor Dominicans....These children are basically "without a country," and without food to eat, or hope...Sherry

This certainly does not fit the "me" generation, where everything evolves around "me." There is nothing the Lord hates worse than a heart of pride....Some of the greatest men that ever lived, were the most humble. 2 PM - This is Kanibal..."after he became a Christian and after the Lord blessed him with a house and a job." Everyone in all the villages around laughed at him, made fun of him and called him "the town drunk." Nobody loved him or cared for him...until he met Jesus "face to face." His life has completely changed!!! We love this little guy as if he is our own family....He brings me "joy" each time I look at his face. When he sees me, he holds out his arms and yells, "Mama!" 6 AM - These are our twin grandsons, Aidan and Brandon....They live in California with our son, Jonathan and his wife, Julie. We love them and miss seeing them "grow up," and that is one of the sacrifices of a missionary....They learn new Bible Scriptures all the time, and this is the one they just learned: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven..." 05-02-2013 - 7:30 PM - Brock Pittman and his mother, Kelly, came all the way to Haiti to distribute soccer uniforms, shoes, and other items to poor children in Haiti, many of whom have never even owned a "pair of shoes of any kind." They were not allowed to play in the soccer matches without uniforms....You will be excited to see Sherry's Journal coming soon on this project! No job, no food, no hope....I wish I could have stopped our truck in traffic, picked him up and taken him home. I will never forget his face...it is the "face of Haiti." Sherry

05-01-2013 - 11:30 AM - Today, we got a visit from the first child we ever sponsored in Haiti...Guito! We began our Child Sponsorship Program with him and a few others 22 years ago. He was thin, poor, hungry and his parents had no money for school....Through our Child Sponsorship Program, he completed his education, got married, had four children, got a job at our LAC office, bought his own motor cycle, became a deacon, sings in the choir and leads many other projects in his Church! He said, "I am one of the ten lepers who returned to give thanks..." it made me cry. If you would like to "change a life," like Guito's click here and become a Child Sponsorship Partner. Sherry
6:30 AM - This is Magda....She was brought to our Jesus Healing Center with a Displaced Hip and Osteomyelitis. She will need to be put in a hospital for long term antibiotic therapy before they can do surgery on her hip. 5:15 AM - Look at this picture...it may not mean much to you, but as missionaries, it brings tears to our eyes. This is Kanibal...at one time, he was the "town drunk." He came to every food distribution we had, half drunk, but begging for food. He has no family, at least nothing is known of them...his wife probably left him. He became a Christian, got a job and got a house in Miracle Village!!!! He proudly painted this sign beside his house! A "sinner" has come home....Sherry
04-29-2013 - 3 PM - We just received news from Tony, our School Director, about how people are suffering all over the mountains, due to hunger....He said that "children are dying," and parents don't know what to do...there are no crops, no jobs and no food. He asked if we could send food to the mountains and start new "Feeding Programs...." It would mean "more food trucks and more food," Sherry
1:30 PM - This is Brock Pittman, a Senior at Saddleback Valley Christian School....He had to complete a Senior Project that would "further the Kingdom of God." He choose to gather and donate soccer items to the poor Haitian children. He and his mother will be coming to Haiti on May 3rd to distribute the soccer equipment. 04-28-2013 - 5:15 PM - Carlos left this morning for the Dominican Republic. He is preparing for two Love A Child teams coming in May. He has arrived safely. Haiti is on one island called Hispaniola. The eastern side of the island is Spanish (Dominican Republic) and the western side is Haiti. In the morning, we have a lot to do here for the Lord. Love, Bobby and Sherry

04-26-2013 - 8 PM - Over the last two months, I haven't said too much about the new Marketplace because we've been waiting on the Lord. I've felt led that the Lord had one person who would obey his voice and give the 1,000,000 to build it. On Wednesday, it happened! Pastor Jentezen Franklin committed to sponsoring the 1,000,000 to build the Marketplace. Pastor Franklin cried as he told us how God had spoken to him to do this project. A man, who God sent to the meeting, gave the first $100,000, plus two other pastors each gave $10,000. It was truly a Kingdom Connection! 11 AM - We need dentists for two separate Trips to Haiti. The first is July 8-12, 2013 to work in our Love A Child Village Dental Clinic and nearby villages. The second is Nov 4-9, 2013 to work in Savaan Rock, a remote, mountain village. Outside LAC Village dental chairs are improvised and most procedures are extractions. 04-25-2013 - 4:30 PM - Yesterday, during an afternoon meeting with Pastor Jentezen Franklin, Free Chapel, God spoke to Pastor Franklin to sponsor the Marketplace in Fond Parisien, Haiti! Dennis Hammond was there and God spoke to him to give the first $100, 000 to start it off! Pastor David Crank and Pastor Mike also gave generous donations! It was a Miracle Meeting and we were all in "shock and awe" of what God did!! We are speechless at the goodness of God! Bobby and Sherry

04-23-2013 - 2:30 PM - Each month, we share the food that is donated to us from Feed My Starving Children with other organizations. This comes to "one 40 foot container of food," each month, at a cost to Love A Child of $10,000....But as we give, God gives back to us. This came from our friend Didi Washington, Mission Haiti Helping Kids....All of us missionaries know that we cannot feed all the hungry children in Haiti, by ourselves.... There is a Haitian Creole Proverb that says, " Youn sel dwet pakapab manje kalalou." "You cannot eat okra with only finger!" Thank you for your prayers and support. Here you can see the beautiful new church that was built because so many people came to the Lord right after the earthquake. The church is full! 6:45 PM - The H E A R T 9-11 Team has been working hard building a FireHouse in Miracle Village! We are so blessed to have them come to Love A Child...we have a trained "Haitian Volunteer FireMen Team" and two Firetrucks! Now, we will have our own FireHouse and Water Pump! (This is a big blessing, seeing we have about 500 houses here all "made of wood!") And when they finish, they'll be planting 1000 "Moringo Trees" in Miracle Village! 9 AM - This morning, we welcome Pastor Mark Ostrander to Haiti. This will make around his 267th volunteer trip to Haiti. On some of our dangerous trips, our truck has hung half way off the side of a mountain. We have faced many dangers together. God bless his love and compassion for the Haitian people. Bobby

The Lord spoke to me and said, "Bobby, wake up glad, not mad." Some people are in a bad mood until they get their first cup of coffee. The Word says... 04-19-2013 - 8:30 PM - A huge Water Tower is being built in Miracle Village by our missionary, Robert de Vries, and his Haitian Crew. The Water Tower will supply water not only for our Clinic and School, but also for the Firehouse that will be built by the H.E.A.R.T. 9-11 Team and sponsored by Pastor Randy Landis/LifeChurch! With hundreds of houses in this village, "made of wood," we surely need a Fire Department! We have the trained crew, the Firetrucks, and now, thank God, a Fire House will be coming! PTL! Sherry

04-19-2013 - 2 PM - The medical team just returned from a great trip to the old village of Le Tant. They held a Mobile Medical Clinic under the roof of a mud hut. They saw 150 patients this morning! Great work guys!! Sherry
11 AM - This week, we have had a great "Mobile Clinic Team," to join us...Andrea LaFleur (Physician’s Assistant) is from Signal Mountain, TN; the rest of the team: Ryan Travis (Pharmacist), Shawn Glendening (Nurse Anesthetist), McKenzie Gray (Medical Assistant), and Dr. Paul Marquis are from Church of the King in Mandeville, LA. They have worked at Water of Life Mennonite Clinic, Fond Verette Mobile Clinic and today, "old Letant" Mobile Clinic! Great Work! Thanks so much to everyone! Sherry
6 AM - "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..." Ecclesiastes 3:1 Timing is everything to God. Bobby used to preach a message called, "The perfect will of God has a perfect timing..." Sometimes, we have "hurry up, God," faith....But God's time clock is different than ours, but His is always perfect. Years ago, an evangelist in Melbourne, Florida gave Bobby and me a "word from the Lord...." (We had just been preaching on street corners and in some small local churches.) He said, "In the future, I see you in Haiti in a two story orphanage, surrounded by many children...." We thought, "he is crazy and he certainly is not a man of God!" But in 1991, we moved to Haiti and we live in a big, "two story orphanage" surrounded by many children...all in God's timing! Sherry
04-18-2013 - 5:15 PM - Our Mobile Medical Clinic Team arrived safely from the mountains of Fond Verette....They saw 240 people today! Great work! Tomorrow, they will go to the village of "old Le Tant" to conduct a Mobile Clinic. These children in this picture are from "new Le Tant" (Kingdom Connection Village). We are still distributing food to them, until they can get their crops growing, and be able to sell them in our new Marketplace....Once they have "jobs," we can move on to another village to help others. Wow, that is such an eye opener...especially when you live in a country like Haiti, where fear and Voodoo abound. Your eyes become open and you are so much more "sensitive" to evil spirits that cause people to do "what they do." Be sure to pray today and ask the Lord to open your eyes, your heart, and your understanding....God bless you, Sherry
