Ask this little boy...
His name is Selien Jean and here is his story.
Several weeks ago, Hand of Hope Medical Volunteers came to the dedication of our Jesus Healing Center here in Fond Parisien, Haiti. They conducted a "mobile clinic" for the entire community using our Church and a portion of the Jesus Healing Center.
To get the word out to the public, we announced the clinic on our Love A Child Radio Station here on our property.

Thanks to CTN Television, this Radio Station is a blessing to thousands and thousands of poor people here in this area...every day. CTN also donated 1,000 "solar powered radios" to families here in the area. (The radios are tuned to one station only... 103.5 FM Love A Child!)
Selien Jean lives not far from our Love A Child Village...
When Selien broke his arm, his parents did not have money for a doctor and his father had no idea it was actually broken. So, a "leaf doctor" tried to set his arm by wrapping it some banana leaves and old rags. But his arm didn't get better, it got worse. It began to swell and hurt.

While Selien's father was out in the garden and while his mother was at the market, he heard on one of our little "solar radios" that there would be a clinic in Fond Parisien. This intelligent little boy decided to come all by himself.
So, we took him to the nearest hospital for an examination.
They sent us for X-rays...

When the X-rays were developed, the doctor said that he had broken his arm "completely in two pieces," near the elbow area and that the blood was not circulating. This meant... "if this little boy had not come in for medical help immediately, he would have eventually had his arm amputated!"
When his father heard this and realized what had happened...

...he began to cry and thank God, and thank the missionaries and everyone!!!
We soon got Selien to a good doctor who did surgery on his arm and put it in a cast.
He will go back for more X-rays in two weeks, but the good thing is that this adorable, brave little boy will not have to have his arm amputated.
The other good news is that "all the Voodoo people who know Selien's father" have marveled at how God saved this little boy's arm!
And the best news is that the "goodness of God leadeth thee (or men) to repentence." Rom. 2:4
...or bring life saving medical care to a sick child...

...a mother or father is more apt to listen to the Gospel, because we have
reached out to where they are hurting the most.

That is why we will be crossing those dangerous mountains and rivers to go to the "regions beyond" this coming week...to Greffin, Haiti. The trip will be "very, very dangerous." But we must go to take medical help and the Gospel to people in this remote area who are isolated from the world and have no medical care at all. We will be feeding everyone who comes to the clinic and we will also be feeding the families in Greffin.
Our Mitsubishi half ton four wheel drive is "ten years old." This might not seem old to you, but if you were a truck in Haiti, it would mean that you were on your "last leg." This old truck has been carrying (are you ready for this?) three and half tons of food every two weeks to villages all throughout Haiti!

Now, it is practically on "duck tape!" We need a new truck just like this one. In fact, we need to buy two four wheel drive pick-ups and a KIA, but if we had a new truck, just like our old Mitsubishi, it would continue to take food to the mountains for ten more years, unless Jesus comes first.

God Bless You and remember, it is the "goodness of God that leadeth men to repentence..." Rom. 2:4
