Meet Kanibal...

January 25, 26 and 27, 2012

A Haitian Creole Proverb

"Se bon ki ra..."

"If you're capable, you're in demand..."

Bobby and Haitian

This is Bobby with a little Haitian guy named "Kanibal."   He was the town-drunk and jobless.  Kanibal is from the old village of Le Tant, a village of mud huts...

...and starving naked children.

Poor Haitian Family

Kanibal always managed to be in every "food line" we had, whether it was it was Le Tant...

...or Miracle Village.

We knew he had no house in Miracle Village and no job.  He could not come to church under the tent, because he had no clothes.

So, we gave him a nice suit, and he has been in church every Sunday!

Town Clown

Robert de Vries, one of our missionaries, hired Kanibal to work on some toilets and construction in Miracle Village...

We are still putting in Community Toilets and building a few more houses for some families who were left out, and "fell through the cracks."  We want to thank Bill and Jeannie and the Logos Fund of the Luzerne Foundation for sponsoring the Community Toilets, seven wells with pumps, ten solar lights and for helping sponsor the security wall.

This week, Kanibal is working again! Robert has given him "dignity" by giving him a job, and the rest of our Haitian crew have "dignity," too.

The Haitians painted the beautiful Mobile Medical Clinic Facility that the 9-11 Team built for me... We are all so proud of this project!

We want to extend a very special, special thanks to Mark Ostrander, who designed the clinic and worked with the 9-11 Team...

A big thank you goes to the 9-11 Team, who paid for all the supplies and took their time to come to Haiti to build it!

Here is the wonderful, neatly arranged pantry...

Working on jobs like these, not only gives the Haitians "dignity," but when we hire one Haitian, that person feeds an average of ten people!

Imagine what will happen when God gives us the money to build the "Marketplace!"

(We will soon have the design ready to show you!)  If you would like to plant a seed to help with the Marketplace, please make a donation on line by clicking the button below.

From all the Haitians and from all of us missionaries here "thank you, and May God richly bless you!"

Bobby & Sherry

P.S. - We want to thank Robert and Durkje (our missionaries from Holland) for doing a terrific job! They both speak fluent Creole, and Robert is over the construction in Miracle Village at this time.  Also, Durkje is over our LAC Orphanage, the Team Cooks, preparing the food for the team, and much more.
We have a great missionary staff!
