A Haitian Creole Proverb...

This is my mother, Marion Barner. Everyone calls her Grandma Barner. She will be 90 on February 7th. My mother was married to my father, Sam Barner, before she became a Christian. When she accepted Christ, from that day on, she was determined to "serve the Lord, " no matter what, and she would raise her children to "serve the Lord."

Even though my father gave her a hard time, was out of work much of the time, and did things that would have normally crushed anyone else, she remained "steadfast, immovable," and with "unshaken faith," that he would be saved before he died...and he was.
Today, I am what I am, because of my mother, and because of her faith...Bobby and I are here working in Haiti.
She says, she does not want to live past 90, and she wants to go be with the Lord, but she cannot "go" until God is finished with her.
We are asking everyone who can, to send her a Birthday Card, and maybe put a little money inside, or some gift coupons for Burger King, Denny's or Olive Garden...those are her favorite. She would also love a handkerchief, a picture of you or whatever you would like to send her. It would mean a lot to her and to me.
Her address is:
Marion Barner
155 Needle Blvd.
Merritt Island, Fl 32953

Thank you so much and God bless you,
Sherry
P.S. Bobby and I, along with our children, will all be traveling to be with her for her Birthday.
