Good Things Come From Bad...

October 14-18, 2012

A Haitian Creole Proverb...

"You jou pou dyab, you jou pou Bondye."

"One day for the devil, one day for God,"  or Good and evil exist together.

The earthquake that struck Haiti in January of 2010 brought a lot of heartache...

But many good things came "from the bad..."

Bobby and Sherry Under Striped Tent

During the earthquake, we began to use the surgical tent on our land here at Love A Child for Church Services (Our own church had become a hospital with people on cots and the floor, receiving I'Vs)...

Patients Sleeping

Since there were many earthquake victims who were left with nothing, they needed "the peace and hope" that only God could give.

Church Under the Trees...

So, we moved the services outside "under the trees..." in the open air.

Church Service

There were hundreds of victims who were in wheel chairs, those who had lost their loved ones, those who had a leg amputated and those who would still need amputations...

People with Faith

All the crippled, broken bodies had "crippled, broken spirits..."

Man in Wheel Chair Praying

That only the Lord could heal.

Baptismal Service in Fish Tanks...

Many people accepted the Lord, and we baptized them in our Fish Farm Tanks!! There were many people gathered around the tanks as Pastor Varius and Bobby had water baptisms...

Lady with One Leg and One Arm

Water baptism is very important to the Haitian Christians...

Little Boy Being Baptised

Once you are baptized, "everyone knows you are a Christian," and the "pressure is on!!!"

Moving to Camp Hope...

When the people were moved from Love A Child Village to our "other land," it became "Camp Hope," but they still needed a Church.

Moving into Camp Hope

We are so thankful that James Satcher donated a large red and white tent to be used as a Church...

Crusade Crowd and Praying

That red and white tent served well until the storms and winds finally took it down...

Lg Tent Down

We had another tent that we put up...

Soon, that tent was damaged.  So, we used small white canopy tents and put them close together and had "church..."

God does another Miracle...

We are so thankful to Bob Tiberio, who gave the first "faith gift" of $25,000 to build the "House of God," in Miracle Village in loving memory of his precious wife, Lucille.  He also gave another gift of $5,000 in honor of Dorothy, who had been a missionary on the "front lines" for many years.

Church Rendering

Soon, the foundation was going in...

That foundation was a great miracle but, God was not finished.  He was about to do something great again.

Another Miracle...

When Pastor Gregory Dickow visited Haiti months ago, he also got a burden to help build the Church at Miracle Village.

It was so exciting to see the large beams going up...

And the sides...

And the finishing touches.  Now, there is work to be done on the inside.

This is Pastor Belgad (Belgad means "beautiful guardian," in Creole.)...and this Pastor certainly is a beautiful guardian of the new converts.

Pastor Belgad

Pastor Belgad said, "According to the Haitian culture, they don't want to move into the church and begin to use it until it is finished."

Then, they will have a "big celebration" and dedicate the house of God!!!

We want to again thank our precious friend, Bob Tiberio, who gave the first gift in loving memory of his wife, Lucille, and we want thank Pastor Gregory Dickow and Life Changers Church for their special gift for this great work!!

This Church will birth many, many souls for the Kingdom, and all the people here in Haiti say, "This Church won't be big enough!!!!!"  Ha! That's Faith!!
